To determine the size of cremation urn you need, you should know the approximate healthy body weight of your loved one (person or pet). For cremation purposes, 1 pound of healthy body weight will result in approximately 1 cubic inch of ash. Therefore, the urn you choose should have a capacity in cubic inches that is close to or slightly larger than the healthy weight of the deceased.
For example, if the person weighed 100 pounds, they would need an urn with a capacity of approximately 90-100 cubic inches or larger.
When shopping for a cremation urn, use the healthy weight to estimate the required urn size:
All our cremation urn product descriptions list their size in cubic inches, so knowing the weight will allow you to choose the appropriate size to hold all the ashes
