I'm sure this is a stupid question. Will one side remain intact until the surviving spouse dies?

My wife and I are Catholic, so there can be no comingling of ashes or else we would just buy one large urn. She's willing to hang on to my ashes until she passes so we can be buried together. Will one side survive for years if climate controlled?

Yes, as long as the Companion Unity Floral Heart Biodegradable Cremation Urn remains in a climate-controlled environment (low heat, low humidity, little or no sunlight, etc.), it should last indefinitely. The urn will only begin to break down once it is buried.
