For this Dog Dedication Custom Photo Wood Cremation Urn, the ashes are placed through the bottom of the urn. Simply unscrew the 4 screws on the base, which will then come off. When reattaching, please do not overtighten to prevent damaging the wood. This process applies to most wood dog urns for ashes.
