The size of the urn needed is usually based off the weight of the person. 1 pound of healthy body weight (prior to weight loss due to illness, etc.) equals approximately 1 cubic inch of ashes. All of the interior of urns are measured in cubic inches. For example, cremains for a person with a healthy body weight of 200lbs would require an urn that holds at least 200 cubic inches.
